Online Bibliographic Databases

First Search is a subscription service that provides access to numerous bibliographic databases including the ATLA Religion Index, the ATLAS Project, and World Cat. The authorization and password to access FirstSearch are available to MTS students, faculty, and staff at the MTS Library. Due to our licensing agreement, we can not post the authorization and password on the website.

The ATLA Religion Index provides bibliographic information about periodical articles, essays within books, dissertations, theses, and book reviews in theology and religious studies. The ATLAS Project provides full-text access to the last 50 years of a limited group of scholarly, theological journals. WorldCat is a database of all the books cataloged by OCLC member libraries, which includes virtually all North American academic libraries.

Tennessee Electronic Library is another subscription service that provides bibliographic information and limited full-text access to periodical articles and other materials on a wide variety of subjects. Again, the authorization and password are available for MTS students, faculty, and staff at the MTS Library.

Oxford African American Studies Center provides full-text access to more than 7,500 articles related to African American history and culture.

Old Testament Abstracts provides comprehensive bibliographic information about books, articles, essays, and reviews in Old Testament studies.

New Testament Abstracts provides comprehensive bibliographic information about books, articles, essays, and reviews in New Testament studies.
