Giving Opportunities

The Annual Fund

The annual fund is made up of gifts that help support the current operating budget of the seminary. It is this fund that directly affects the quality of the daily educational experience for our students. The support for this fund allows the seminary to maintain a high quality program while keeping the tuition charges affordable to our students.

Individuals may contribute to the Annual Fund through several different giving programs including:

• Alumni/ae Phon-a-thon. In March of each year, alumni, students, faculty and board members will "man the phones" to invite all MTS alumni/ae to join in the support of the seminary.
• Theological Education Sunday. Each year, churches and individual church members contribute to the support of the seminary through this special one-day observance in behalf of MTS.
• Unrestricted Gifts. Supporters are encouraged to make unrestricted gifts of any amount to the Annual Fund at any time during the fiscal year.
• Designated Gifts. Some supporters choose to contribute toward the support of a particular program or activity with the operating budget of the seminary. Contact the Office of the President or the Advancement Office for details on how to designate your giving.
• Matching Gifts. Some MTS supporters work for matching gift companies that will match the contributions of employees to charitable organizations. If your employer is a matching gift company your gift to the seminary can be multiplied by securing a Matching Gift form from your employer and mailing it with your gift to the seminary. The seminary will complete the appropriate portions of the form and return to your employer for payment. Please contact the Advancement Office for more details.
